Whitney Houston’s legendary “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” has made a glorious return in Mr. Saccardo’s future house makeover. Updating the classic record for 2015 with an English touch and grumbling bass line, the London based producer has primed Houston’s masterpiece for nightclubs the world over.
With a firm understanding of the original’s structured synth pop, Mr. Saccardo has created a thoughtful arrangement to supplement existing elements of the track. There’s plenty of brass, claves, and synth pads to support Whitney Houston’s belting vocal talent, and even the sub-oscillations of the original have been refurbished to add another layer of depth. Sprinkling in healthy amounts of original production throughout, Mr. Saccardo gives a respectful nod to the late singer, staying true to the track’s heritage.
It seems Mr. Saccardo has a knack for remixing timeless records, and we can’t wait for more inspired renditions. Who knows, maybe Stevie Wonder will be next…
