It’s been a phenomenal year for Major Lazer already, but it seems that life isn’t done giving yet.
Their latest album Peace Is The Mission just hit #1 on Billboard’s Dance/Electronica charts. In the last week, the album has sold 3,000 copies to beat out last week’s #1, Jamie xx’s In Colour (which is apparently all the sales that are required to get a #1 record these days).
Even better, Major Lazer just released an official remix from Vanic of a track that isn’t “Lean On” and we’re so happy about that. Vanic puts his own spin on the opening track from the album, “Be Together,” which listens more like a VIP than a remix. The slight differences boost the overall sounds of the track, but leaves Vanic’s own voice much in the wind.
Finally, Major Lazer themselves have a message to burgeoning producers… Stop remixing “Lean On”! (While we’re at it, “Sun & Moon,” “Latch,” and “BBHMM” too.)
