RAM is a relative new-comer to the production scene, establishing himself first as an acclaimed DJ in the Netherlands. Landing a residency at Grotesque Radio, RAM’s sound has gone international, amassing an enormous fan base with his emotional and high-energy sound. Fresh off the press at Black Hole Recordings is RAM’s long awaited debut artist album Forever Love, which features 14 tracks of pure trance bliss.
To give you an idea of just how much emotion (and time) went into this album, RAM released a single in the final weeks of 2013 titled “RAMelia.” This was a tribute to his late wife Amelia, who had an untimely passing. The vocal work from Susana is outstanding, evoking powerful feelings that surely mirror RAM’s feelings for Amelia. Words really can’t do this track justice, so I’ll let it speak for itself…
The rest of Forever Love is an equally moving album; each song brings you to the verge of tears in the best way possible. RAM utilizes an array of female vocalists, whose talents match his productions perfectly. The ambient sections, which often rely on the higher sounds such as violins or piano, beautifully showcase the vocalists’ euphoric higher ranges. RAM uses the climaxes to flaunt his own technical skill, crafting dynamic sounds that maintain the feelings brought about by the vocal tracks. This is not to say that RAM absolutely needs a vocalist to provide the proper contrast and sentiments when he’s in the studio. The non-vocal pieces are just as impressive, leaving little to be desired despite the lack of singing.
RAM really hit the nail on the head with this album. Having already solidified his place as a preeminent trance DJ, he now has earned himself another top spot as a producer. Overall, Forever Love is an intense emotional journey that should not be overlooked!
