Hundreds Injured When Pyrotechnics Set Strange Powder on Fire in Taiwan

A Taiwanese party took a dangerous turn recently, when a mixture of pyros and Holi powder ignited. In the very graphic video below, attendees can be seen dancing in a cloud of what looks like powder or gas before the sound of pyrotechnics and a large flame spread across the dancefloor. British publication The Mirror reported that over 200 people (80 serious cases) suffered various degrees of burns after the incident at the Formosa Water Bark in Taipei. While the workers immediately responded by extinguishing the fire, this video taken by another attendee clearly shows that some were affected by the blaze more than others. Thankfully there have been no reports of any casualties from this event.

We are very sorry about what happened and we will investigate the cause to find out who is responsible.

– Mayor Eric Chu
