Google Play Music To Transition To Free, Ad Sponsored Music Streaming Service

Launching this week on Android and iOS devices, Google Play Music is taking strides to increase their relevance in the world of music streaming platforms with a free, ad-supported version of Play Music.

Their current $9.99 per month model is one that Apple Music is pursuing to start, however Google’s well-planned introduction to a free option coincides perfectly with the recent debate of streaming services and recent announcements made by Apple and TIDAL. Google holds all of the power after all, and can easily direct their massive user base to their free streaming service as opposed to Apple Music, Spotify, SoundCloud, etc.

If you’re interested in subscribing, check out the service here. From our experience, it is a valid competitor to giants Spotify & TIDAL… and best of all it’s now FREE.

Check out the full announcement.
