Kaskade‘s fan base is undoubtedly one of the most diehard and passionate in the EDM community. Whether it’s representing dance music at Coachella’s main stage or working together with other electronic legends, his supporters always stick by his side. That was, of course, until they caught wind of his remix of Jack Ü and Justin Bieber‘s “Where Are Ü Now“.
Premiered at XS Las Vegas back in May, this rework was Kaskade’s personal choice for his Heldeep Radio spot. His fans were not pleased by his decision to work alongside pop star Bieber, as they believed it was a waste of his talent and unique production. Finally, Kaskade responded to the flak with a short statement describing his reasons for the pairing. Read below, and listen to the track.
Close your eyes and listen to the music. Do you like the song? I do. I don’t really care who is singing it. If the song is good and I like it and I have time and they ask – I remix it. I am about the music. Now – if you have a problem with the kid personally that’s on you. That is your problem and I will let you handle that. Ask yourself this – if you didn’t know it was him singing would you like it? Yep, you would cuz it’s good.
We won’t be posting some of the negative comments but if you’re so inclined, you can view the original post on Kaskade’s Facebook page and see the hateful remarks there: Kaskade’s Facebook
