Grab your swim trunks and your flippy floppies because we’re heading to The Maldives to party. In 2012 Subsix debuted as the world’s first underwater nightclub, but now they’ve completely remodeled to give clubgoers a truly one-of-a-kind experience. Located 6 meters (about 20 feet) underwater in the Indian Ocean, patrons have to arrive by speedboat before descending a spiral staircase. The club is essentially an aquarium, as floor to ceiling glass walls separate you from the Indian Ocean’s natural ecosystem. The club itself is designed to reflect all of the ocean’s treasures too, with decor such as a coral-themed chandelier and hanging strands of capiz shells. The venue is like many other nightclubs as it’s open for lunch (for $165 a person) and private parties when it’s not pumping serious basslines through the ocean floor.
