2014 has been a killer year for Black Tiger Sex Machine. They’ve released a few singles, went on a European tour that was captured in a documentary (below) and now they have their anticipated Afterworld EP that just dropped today. Not to mention, their label, Kannibalen Records, is celebrating an anniversary later this summer, which means even more music to come from the crew. Instead of talking about the future though, let’s get to the present and see just how immense this infernal project is.
“Afterworld” starts things out as a battle general would for his army. It prepares you for the madness that is yet to come with thrilling musical phrases and Panther’s vicious rhymes. Right after you gear up, you get “Lost In Chaos” with the help of Jeffer. This electro house beast doesn’t hold back; you get a full on exhilaration of energy that can’t be stopped. I’m trying to imagine this live and all I can picture is hundred’s of infected individuals raging as hard as possible.
From here on we have three remixes of “Afterworld” that finish off the EP. Kai Wachi comes first with his hybrid trap sound that takes a few different forms throughout the song. Did I also mention there’s a crazy trash phrase? Because there is and it’s epic. What else that is epic is Owl Vision‘s remix. Super dark and in your face, this French electro track should come with a warning label on it. Definitely one of my favorites on this project. Lastly, Mandragora comes through to close with his minimal remake. Psytrance, future progressive; whatever you want to call it, I’m calling it dope. Even though the EP comes to a close at this point, there’s still more content.
Black Tiger Sex Machine got done touring Europe recently where they hit five different countries. THUMP released the ten minute documentary last week that showcases what these guys do at their live shows, as well as some behind the scenes action. BTSM are currently working on getting their work visas, so get ready for them to hit the states in the future!
