A familiar face is making a serious comeback. Thrive Records, The GRAMMY-award label responsible for bringing the world A-Trak, Mark Ronson, and Paul Oakenfold, as well as the soundtrack to films like Requiem For A Dream and Memento, are back after a three year hiatus. Now known as Thrive Music, the LA-based label has returned to the dance music scene in a big way, starting with artists like BARE and his latest release “Katana.”
BARE, whose dance music roots are in bass, brings a hard-hitting club banger just in time for EDC Vegas. “Katana” is one of those tracks that pulls influences from multiple genres, making it hard to put into a box and all the more attractive to DJs looking to shake things up in their sets. With a standard synth build, paired with a high pitched, ass-shaking drop and some tribal-like drums peppered throughout, “Katana” should get rinsed all over Vegas this week.
