Ultra Korea Continued Despite Large-Scale Virus Scare

14266989038_9c5bd38940_bWhile over 70 DJs including Skrillex, Hardwell, Porter Robinson, Knife Party, Lil Jon and more made their sounds known at Ultra Korea in S. Korean capitol Seoul this weekend, preventative measures abounded to help stop the spread of Middle Eastern Respiratory Syndrom otherwise known as MERS.

The virus continues its rampant spread through the peninsula with over 145 cases reported and 15 deaths already at hand. Contracted through close contact with an infected person, you can see why a music festival could be a particularly deadly place for such a lethal virus.

However, Ultra took great precautions to screen attendees, using body heat monitors upon entrance to scan for potential MERS victims and distributing hand sanitizer both inside and outside the festival doors to encourage cleanliness. Despite 100,000 revelers, many of whom donned protective face masks initially, the festival was a huge success without incident.

Ultra Music Festival continues in Croatia in July and in Japan & Bali in September.
