Trance icon Gareth Emery recently unleashed a “Game of Thrones” inspired piece, and in honor of the season finale, Gareth has decided to make this track available for free download. Game of Thrones is unquestionably one of the most popular TV shows out right now. Its popularity is making itself known in the music industry as well, with remixes by everyone from Anthrax to Armin. “Kings & Queens” offers a trance / progressive interpretation on the now-classic Game of Thrones Theme.
Being the only person in the world that doesn’t watch G.o.T., I really have no knowledge of the show (unless you count South Park’s rendition). Even though I’ve never seen an episode in my life, I can assure you I’ve heard the theme song (original and remixes) several times through multiple outlets. Gareth spares no details, recreating the theme’s overall vibe with his own arsenal of synths. The drop provides us with the well-known notes of the G.o.T. theme supported by a heavy kick, driving the familiar melody that everyone has come to love.
