After swooning the hearts of thousands with their cover of Jack Ü’s “Where Are Ü Now,” Swedish trio Ember Island has finally released their debut single, “Stay.”
Coupled with the right amount of electronic production, this otherwise alternative track becomes a molten ballad of indie-pop goodness. The track’s mellifluous vocals string emotional chords throughout the entire three minutes, evoking the trio’s staple sincerity and warmth. And they’ve infused an idyllic blend of synth pads, thoughtful percussion, and throbbing guitar arrangements to complete the transcendent atmosphere. It’s inevitable that Ember Island’s sound will draw semblance to Imogen Heap, but they’re rapidly proving they’re something else all together.
“Stay” is now available on iTunes, and who knows, maybe we’ll soon have an album to look forward to…
