Giorgio Moroder Unveils His Album Megamix & It’s Disco Heaven

One of the most anticipated and widely ignored albums set to drop this year is Giorgio Moroder’s Déjà Vu. The king of disco and one of the godfathers of electronic music hasn’t released a studio album since 1985, making this his first album in 30 years.

There are going to be things you worry about when a producer has taken that much time off, such as “Will his sound be stagnated?” or “How will he fit in with the current sonic climate?”

Allow me the quash those fears by saying that Moroder has brought his iconic disco sound to the 21st century and it’s amazing.

Nu-disco has been a decent placeholder for the 70s phenomenon genre, but nothing is like hearing the real thing come back to life. Featuring collaborations from Britney Spears, Matthew Koma, Kylie Minogue, Sia, Charli XCX, Kelis, Foxes and more, even kids will be tempted to throw on parachute pants and get down and boogie.

Check out the album megamix below, and let us know which track you’re most looking forward to. We’re really looking forward to Britney Spears, of course.

Pre-order Déjà Vu here, out on June 16th.
