Insomniac’s “EDC Week Charity Auction” Raises $70,000 For Culture Shock Las Vegas

When it comes to legitimate win-win situations, they’re almost as rare as a fully clothed Miley Cyrus. Thankfully, the piercing vision of Pasquale Rotella (Insomniac Events founder) created a beautiful win-win situation that took place this past week. On Friday, May 15, Insomniac’s first ever “EDC Week Charity Auction” came to a close, which raised a whopping $70,000 for Culture Shock Las Vegas while simultaneously providing select EDM fans experiences of a lifetime.

The auction took place over 10 days, and “was the first of its kind surrounding any festival, attracting more than 2,000 fans to eBay Giving Works to bid on once-in-a-lifetime Electronic Daisy Carnival inspired events.”

Winners took home some magical auction items such as a helicopter ride into EDC Las Vegas with Pasquale Rotella and Holly Madison, playing the opening track at a stage of their choice, and entry to every Insomniac festival for an entire year.

As could be expected, Rotella was ecstatic with the auction’s results. “Insomniac and our EDC Week Charity Auction partners are so excited that we were able to raise approximately $70,000 for Culture Shock Las Vegas,” said Pasquale Rotella, Founder and CEO of Insomniac. “I am so happy and grateful that our very first charity auction captured the excitement of so many people in Las Vegas and the dance music community. Culture Shock is such an amazing non-profit and the work they do truly embodies the spirit of EDC – rejecting hatred and inspiring positivity for kids and teens.”

As Rotella continues to push the culture forward with this festival charity auction concept, let’s hope other festivals soon begin to follow suit. Peace, love, unity, and respect … right?
