Attention West Coast bass-heads, crunk junkies, and all-around lovers of music! The day you’ve been eagerly awaiting is finally here: Symbiosis Gathering has announced their highly anticipated musical lineup for 2015.
After a brief hiatus in 2014, the crew behind this unique, community oriented festival has pulled out all the stops to make sure the 10th anniversary of the event’s inception is one that will go down in history. And with six (count ’em, SIX) stages of non-stop sonic shenanigans, we’d say they’re definitely off to a great start. The lineup is absolutely loaded with talent from both the live and electronic side of the spectrum; Nicholas Jaar, GRiZ, CoCoRosie, and the elusive Four-Tet (playing a 3-hour, late night set) head things up, but there are plenty of hidden gems like S-Type, J.Phlip, EPROM, and Dimond Saints within the folds of this sprawling list of performers. Plus, this will be the only California appearance of the man, the legend, Tipper.
However, Symbiosis is much more than just a music festival. It’s a collaborative journey; an immersive, all encompassing experience. In the words of producer, Kevin KoChen:
Symbiosis Gathering is the most complete version of utopia that we could imagine. A diverse offering of entertainment and education, experiential art and moments of reflection, and a diverse group of characters that make up a tacklebox of fun.
With informational and inspirational workshops, all day yoga and dance classes, delectable organic food, innovative large-scale art installations, theater exhibitions, and dedicated ambient areas for relaxation, it’s safe to say there will never be a dull moment. Best of all, you get to spend 5 days on the shores of the idyllic Woodward Reservoir with full access to it’s cool, blue depths. Legs getting tired from dancing but don’t want to leave the music? Just take a swim at the beach stage and get the best of both worlds.
