Giorgio Moroder Reveals Secrets for 40-year music career

Some dance music fans weren't even alive the last time Giorgio Moroder released a studio album. Many will remember "Giorgio by Moroder," a track on Daft Punk's Random Access Memories last year. Since then he's been one of many to remix Coldplay's "Midnight," and has also worked with Madeon, who will also be releasing an album next year. His career has transcended genres, mediums, and even decades. Next year's 74 is the New 24 will feature incredible vocal talents and is sure to change the landscape of dance music.

Giorgio Moroder, the man behind megastars such as Donna Summer, has been in the industry for over four decades. He’s been called the godfather of disco as well as EDM for his work with Skrillex and Daft Punk, but has also worked with some of the biggest pop stars as well to earn three Oscars, four Golden Globes, and four Grammys among other accolades. At 75, Moroder is currently working on his next studio album Deja Vu, the first one in over 30 years. In a recent interview with Billboard, the Italian producer and songwriter gave a few keys to his success. They included: refusing to work with bands, not doing drugs (“I’m probably the only guy in Los Angeles who never took coke.”), and never selling yourself short. Watch the video below:
