Flux Pavilion – International Anthem feat. Doctor [Circus Records]

Flux Pavilion almost needs no introduction. His distinct sound has been around for several years now, dating back to his first acclaimed remix of DJ Fresh’s “Gold Dust” in 2010. Since then, he’s done well to make a name for himself in the bass world, with massive hits like “I Can’t Stop” and “Gold Love.”  Since 2009, he’s also been the co-owner of Circus Records alongside childhood friend Doctor P, who has also been a force when it comes to bass-driven music.

In short, Flux knows how to produce great music, which is why I was more than eager to listen to his newest track  “International Anthem (ft. Doctor).” With a bouncy reggae verse, the track had the perfect level of anticipation for anyone addicted to the genre. But when the drop hit, however, I was instantly reminded of Gold Dust. While the production of the track is clean, “International Anthem” leaves much to be desired from Flux, drawing a little too much on old school nuances. Listen to the track (which is out May 18 on Circus) below and decide for yourself:
