The playful synths of Wave Racer have been absent from our ears for roughly nine months, but thankfully his new musical baby was well worth the wait. The Australian producer makes his emphatic return with a remix of Duke Dumont’s “The Giver (Reprise)”. The remix plays off the latest version of the house anthem which Duke Dumont re-released a couple months back. The vibes on this one are instant, with echoing chords that bounce from ear to ear, and only continue throughout the track guided by amazing vocals. Although the previous two versions from Dumont featured lower pitched male sounding vocals, Wave Racer beautifully took it back to the original female vocal sample from Kim English’s “Time For Love”. The lush lower tempo definitely isn’t as bouncy as we’ve come to expect from a Wave Racer track, but it definitely gets the job done nonetheless. There’s only three words left to say: welcome back, sir.
