If you’re anything like us, you might find that you need a little boost to get through that mid-week slump sometimes. And if that is in fact the case, we have exciting news for you: Andreilien, one of the West coast’s most dynamic and innovative creators of low-end poetry, is back with a brand spankin’ new album!
Ergot Curry marks his first full release under this moniker, as he was formerly known by the name, Heyoka. Spread across twelve entrancing tracks is Andreilien‘s take on a number of different genres; neuro, drum & bass, glitch hop and more are meshed and fused together, with a side helping of his distinctly recognizable sonic crunk-sauce. There’s really nothing out there that sounds quite like it. And while his style has evolved over the years, this album strikes a definitive balance between the über glitchy, wonked out vibes of his earlier tunes and the more dubby, downtempo sounds of newer projects. Uptempo crunchers like ‘Fartknocker’ and ‘Nonsensicle Delight’ give way to the more relaxed, syrupy textures of tunes like ‘Phase Transition’ and ‘Lychee’. Progressing through the album is like traversing a swirling galaxy of sound, hypnotizing and psychedelic.
Andreilien has released Ergot Curry via Muti Music and the album can be purchased in full on Addictech. Listen to the album stream below and make sure to grab a copy if you like what you hear!
