Nero – Innocence (Baewatch Bootleg)

“Innocence” is easily one of the heaviest tracks on Nero’s debut 2011 album Welcome Reality. Every time it’s played live, I still get the hairs on the back of my neck standing up. Yet despite its raw power, it’s not really that easy to dance to.

The solution then? Make a deep house bootleg. I know, I know… the Nero fan in me is basically screaming, but give it a chance. Baewatch did a fantastic job keeping the original melody and vocals while still adding that deep house spin. Alana’s vocals on repeat in the background do well to provide a unifying thread for the bootleg, while the little synth snippets keep a little of that electro vibe.

Also keep in mind that this is a bootleg – meaning that Baewatch did not have access to the original stems for the track. Even still, this is one of the most enjoyable deep house tracks that I’ve heard this year so far.
