New Technology Allows For Higher Volume With Less Effect On Your Neighbors

Spanish sound engineer Xergio Córdoba has recently patented a sound system that has the potential to revolutionize the way clubs and late night venues interact with the noise laws in place within most cities. Using psychoacoustics to double the perceived volume while maintaining the same dB level, Masn’live removes the lower bass frequencies that cause the most sonic bleeding. By replacing these frequencies with a sonic “footprint” that is indistinguishable to the untrained human ear, Córdoba’s system is able to mimic even the heaviest bass at no cost to the venue’s neighbors.

In a recent interview with Vice, Córdoba explained his production process from its conception to its patenting. At the moment, it seems that this technology has only been tested and used in European clubs and smaller venues. As it crosses overseas, it will be interesting to see how companies will put Masn’live to use in festival-size areas or even onboard vessels like Mad Decent Boat Party and Holy Ship!
