Temperatures are finally getting better, which means it’s time to start thinking about how to spend the summer. For New Yorkers that means a trip to Governor’s Island is imminent. The popular tourist destination built a major outdoor tent called Governor’s Beach Club that has been host to some of dance music’s biggest acts like Afrojack, Laidback Luke, Adam Beyer, and more. TC Events & Promotions, who threw the incredible Time Warp New York last Thanksgiving announced the launch of the “Open Air NY” series powered by Space Ibiza New York.
Though many know the layout of Governor’s Beach Club by heart, Open Air promises to make some improvements. An expanded VIP area, a bigger bar closer to the dance floor, improved sound/lighting, and new food vendors should keep guests’ happy as they dance to some of New York’s favorite techno and underground acts. The Open Air NY series begins May 16 with Boris, special guest Steve Lawler, and The Junkies.
