Let’s file this one under V for Vibes. It’s totally expected from the likes of Jamie K from London, and Luigi Rocca from Italy, owner of the 303Lovers and Hotfingers labels. These two producers have reached across country lines and collaborated for the Blame EP, a two track party that blends all the best elements of house music.
Each track has its own strengths: “Aeropoli” has an acid intro, which smoothly leads into a thumping UK Garage bassline, while “Blame” ft. Penny F is good old-fashioned vocal house track, the type that has a slightly garbled one-liner on loop. “Blame” also has that familiar Toolroom tech feel to it, with a rhythm section that leans more latin then UK. Both tracks are a happy marriage for Jamie K and Luigi Rocca’s styles. This is the type of EP house fans dream of, two brilliant minds bringing something different to the table and birthing out something fans of all backgrounds will enjoy.
Jamie K & Luigi Rocca’s Blame EP is out now on Formatik.
