Dancing Astronaut pretty much nailed it with this, “What originally began as a little weekly nod from OWSLA’s fearless leader now leans more towards a weekly honor for the producers and artists who find their material on a “Skrillex Selects” playlist.” That’s absolutely 100% true. A month ago for the 3/12 edition, I noted that two producers, Sieren and McLivinho, had less than a thousand plays combined on their two tracks. Today, the tracks Skrillex chose are each over 20k.
The “Selects” series has become something that most, if not all producers, would kill to be featured on. But what if Skrills were to choose someone to actually help him pick out their favorite tracks together? That’s the honor that Nina Las Vegas has for this edition, choosing a total of 10 tracks that are either hot right now – or they’re about to be.
There’s at least one obvious choice: the collab between Kill The Noise & Tommy Trash, “Louder.” Other tracks are definitely fair, like Elk Road and Slumberjack’s remix of Carmada‘s leadoff single “Maybe” and and Culprate’s remix of Etnik’s “N7.”
