Dubbed by Tiesto as “The Bad Girl of EDM,” Fei-Fei, born Fei-Fei Wang, has gained a bit of notoriety over the years for her genre defying sets, as such was the case in 2012 when she received death threats for daring to integrate dubstep, moombahton, and hip hop into a set she played during Armin van Buuren’s A State Of Trance party in LA. A classically trained pianist since childhood, she discovered her love of turntables in her teens and began to develop her distinct sound, mixing techno, trance, and electro. She eventually moved to Los Angeles to further her career, earning a Master of Fine Arts from USC’s School of Cinematic Arts in the process, and was discovered by Club Red where she would amass a huge following.
Considered one of LA’s top DJs, she got her first gig with Godskitchen in 2004, playing alongside trance great Ferry Corsten and going back to back with Eddie Halliwell. In 2008, she released her debut track “Hangar One” on Paul van Dyk’s label Vandit, which went straight to the Beatport Top 10 and has since had other releases on major dance labels including Armada, Dim Mak, and Ultra. Unsatisfied with what she felt was a lack of creative control by releasing on other labels, in 2010 she started her own imprint Feided and in 2014, dropped her debut album Pretty Girls Don’t Hallucinate.
