Italian-born and London-based DJ/producer Francesca Lombardo has been involved in music practically all her life. A classically trained pianist from the age of six, Francesca attended the prestigious Conservatorium of Music in Italy before going on to London and graduating in vocal performance. It was during this time she was first exposed to London’s rave scene and was soon enamored with it and its music. She soon began to develop her craft as a DJ, spinning techno under the name Jackie Misfit at clubs around London, including Brixton Academy and The Drom, as well as releasing music on Lokomotiv Recordings and her own label Echolette.
With the support of major acts like Marco Carola, Radio Slave, and Loco Dice, Francesca yearned to launch her career into the big leagues. As fate would have it, she crossed paths with Damian Lazarus, who would sign her onto his Crosstown Rebels label and in 2012 she released her first EP on the label titled Changes. Since then, she has been touted as the “Queen of Crosstown Rebels,” playing her mesmerizing, journey-like sets around the world, including Fabric London, Verboten NYC, Space Ibiza, Warehouse Project Manchester, and the Robot Heart stage at Burning Man. Merging her classical upbringing with her love of electronic music, in 2014 she debuted a full orchestral performance at Bangkok’s Wonderfruit Festival, where she performed with the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra. Continuing this trend, she plans to release her debut album this year, a collection of work that will feature live instrumentals and her striking, unforgettable vocals.
