Life In Color At EMU Cancelled Citing “Issues With The Facility”

Rumors started swirling early this morning that Life In Color’s stop at Eastern Michigan University’s Convocation Center on Saturday, April 11 at 8 p.m. had been canceled. That rumor has been confirmed true.

MLive, a publication based out of Michigan, has quoted Walter Kraft, EMU’s vice president for communications:

“Due to issues with the facility, Eastern Michigan University has canceled the Life in Color event scheduled for the Convocation Center on April 11. We apologize to the fans who have purchased tickets and to the promoter, Life in Color, which has been excellent to work with on the event. Guests who purchased tickets will obtain a full refund. Contact the Convocation Center at 734-487-2282. People who purchased tickets online will receive an automatic refund to their credit card account.”

The “issues” that the facility faced were not disclosed.

A contrasting report by WXYZ-TV, Detroit’s ABC affiliate (channel 7), suggested that the event was cancelled following a report on the “event’s history of EMS runs and drug use.”

Paul Reed, Director of Marketing for Life In Color, and the official event page for the event have both confirmed that Walter Kraft’s statement is the official statement.

Other stops on the tour are still slated to go on as planned.
