One of the perks that streaming service TIDAL has been pushing has been “exclusive content.” With a roster of “artist owners” behind the service including various electronic names such as deadmau5, Calvin Harris and Daft Punk, some of that exclusive content was bound to interest our readers. However, we didn’t think it would be something like this, this soon…
With their first two album releases, Daft Punk also created an accompanying movie: D.A.F.T. for Homework, and Interstella 5555 for Discovery. Many fans, myself included actually, were not aware that there was a third film, Electroma. Electroma was the first of the films to not incorporate any of Daft Punk’s original music, as they only directed and co-wrote the project.
The first round of exclusive content from TIDAL comes in the form of a remastered, extended edition Electroma. Additional content includes The White Stripes’ first-ever television appearance, playlists curated by Arcade Fire, Jay Z, Beyoncé, and Coldplay, a preview of Todd Rundgren’s new collaboration with Lindstrøm and Emil Nikolaisen, and more.
