A year after his solemn depart from the festival stage due to health concerns and much-needed recuperation time, Avicii has made a triumphant return to Ultra, playing a very unique set before Tiësto closed out the night. Amidst the pouring Miami rainfall, and subsequent otherworldly festival vibe, Avicii played out many of his classics and main stage heaters that he’s known for. After a while, he shut down the music and lights, and revealed one word displayed across the many screens decorating the stage: “Stories.”
If there was any doubt left of this being the title for his upcoming album, Avicii then dropped several exclusive tracks that have been long-known as teasers for the new project, such as “City Lights.” He also premiered a collaboration track with Coldplay’s Chris Martin, sure to be one of the album’s instant-classics.
With a recognizable return to the Avicii sound that got him to where he is today, crowds will be sure to eat this one up as more and more DJs play it out. The song features vocals and an infectious piano section from Chris Martin, with an uplifting and optimistic drop that plasters a smile onto your face.
Take a peek at the new song below, and cross your fingers for more singles before the album’s official release details are announced.
