Pop music and progressive house are two of my favorite genres and while they are both admittedly rather shallow, with pop being perhaps the most shallow of any musical genre, it is hard to deny how catchy a combination of these two types of music can be. Maroon 5 is one of the heavyweights of the pop world and their latest single, “Sugar”, is one of the groups best.
Denmark’s Sebastian Wibe has put a progressive spin on the original and it is likely his best work to date. Much of the original remains, but the tempo has been upped and a catchy melody has been incorporated into a playful drop that fits the feel of the song wonderfully.
