Washington D.C.’s own Des McMahon has proven himself to be a jack of all trades, producing masterful tracks across many different genres. He first came to my attention with his all drum & bass Hyperfocused/Dragonfly EP earlier this year, and I have been eagerly awaiting unique new tracks from him to come my way.
Des’s newest track “Kaneda” is a hard-hitting dubstep tune, with grinding bass and an eerie synth melody. Inspired by the movie Akira, Des spent months fine-tuning the balance between moody musical elements and heavy bass design, which is beautifully represented in “Kaneda”.
