If Pete Tong backs you, you’re doing something big. Regardless of how you feel about Tropical House, there’s no denying that the genre has been an overnight success as Thomas Jack and partner in crime Kygo are dominating the dance music scene right now, appearing on guest mixes, festival lineups, even TV shows around the world. Thomas Jack has really been the leader though, making serious moves like taking over IHeart Radio’s Evolution station weekly and steering Tropical House in the right direction. Now, he’s being primed by Pete Tong to become one of the next great curators of dance music. Thomas Jack has just joined Tong’s label FFRR under the Parlaphone Records umbrella, and starting in July he will have his own BBC Radio 1 residency. As many dance music fans know, it takes a lot of faith and talent for a an artist to have a residency, and in just a short amount of time on the scene Thomas Jack will be joining legends such as Steve Angello, Tiesto, Skream, Chuckie, Hannah Wants and more.
