The Indy 500 is the world’s largest sporting event, seeing an attendance of over 400,000 packed inside the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS). The IMS is home to a colossal 560 acres of racing grounds, fitting both a golf course and alternate raceway inside the main track. Not to be confused with NASCAR shenanigans, the Indy 500 is IndyCar’s biggest spectacle, and technically faster than Formula 1. Considering the inherent grandeur of the event, it makes sense that the Indy 500 also hosts a world-class party on the infield.
Tucked inside of Turn 3, the Snake Pit was a long standing tradition of the Indy 500 up until the 80’s, after a few people died and the ratchet reached an all time high. The party was revived in 2012, booking Benny Benassi and Krewella to headline its return. Since then, Diplo, Dillon Francis, Nervo, and even Hardwell have played at the Pit – truly making it one of the biggest parties you’ve never heard of. Each year the Snake Pit has managed to stack an even bigger line-up, with the impressive race providing an unparalleled backdrop to the show. Oh, you’re also allowed to bring in a backpack or cooler with as much booze as you’d like, not that it matters.
Kaskade, Steve Aoki, and A-Trak will be headlining this year’s Snake Pit, and you won’t want to miss it. Tickets are bound to go quick, check out the Indy 500 Snake Pit for more information.
