Skrux is one of those names that has become known for melodic dubstep productions. In fact, in most of my articles mentioning melodic dub, he comes up one way or another. Curiously enough, this is my first article about an actual track of his, but better late than never, right?
“My Love Is A Weapon” is a powerhouse of ethereal chords and soft, wispy vocals amidst a characteristic melodic bassline. While, unfortunately, I feel that the production and arrangement on this track is fairly on par with most other melodic dubstep tracks, I can feel a genuineness from Skrux that is absent in other productions. It’s one of those intangible qualities that you can’t really put a finger on, which is why I think it’s so important to point out when you notice it.
