The LA based, Nite Records always has some solid house music in their deck of cards. The latest hand they played comes from Edinburgh-based DJ/producer, Hostage, bringing forth some exciting new house to the table in the new Bully EP. Marking his first release with a U.S. record label, Hostage combines punchy basslines, rolling percussions, and soothing keys in the title track “Bully” to create a loungey house track while still maintaining a consistent groove. On the flip-side is his single “Phase3B”. Thanks to some futuristic synths, aggressive stabs, and eerie vocals, “Phase3B” holds a much darker feel than the title track.
