Start Your Week With Shift K3Y’s “Name and Number”

Shift K3y has been all over BBC Radio 1 this year, from a stellar Diplo & Friends mix to their Push the Tempo for "I Know" and more. His other two singles "Touch" and "Not Into It" put him on our radar too; this singer/producer will redefine live acts in 2015.

For the past few months I’ve been following Shift K3Y ever since I stumbled his incredible Diplo & Friends mix from almost a year ago. Though I’ve been waiting anxiously for an EP, the stuff he’s been putting out in the interim has been sufficient in holding me over. The best part about this Brit is that he’s the total package: a singer who produces his own tracks, who is even starting to bring a live element into his performances. While he’s still relatively new to American fans (you might have seen him last year on tour with Skrillex or at Hard LA), he’s worth checking out, especially if you love UK house with great lyrics. His latest, “Name and Number,” has these nostalgic, 80s RnB chords from your parent’s favorite slow jams, before the upbeat chorus kicks in. Shift K3Y fans will seriously dig this tune, trust me.
