Blackmill Returns After Four Years With New Tropical House Original

Blackmill has become something of a cult love for tens of thousands of fans thanks to his album Miracle in 2011. As one of the first examples of laidback, melodic dubstep, he holds a special place in the hearts of many – much like “Sierra Leone” by Mt Eden does in others. (And in fact, the two did collaborate last December.)

As the years spun on, however, hope for his return was beginning to waver. After all, he had not finished an original tune since 2011.

That ended today.

“Feel That Love Again” is the first fully finished original tune that Blackmill has released in four years. Everyone was expecting, I assume, a return to the melodic dubstep style that began his career. But, no. What we got is tropical house and I honestly could not be happier. It’s a change of pace before his imminent return to the more melodic-influenced sound and the added vocals from Graham Brown are just what the doctor ordered. The slow rhythm, the bouncy bassline, the saxophone, everything is just perfect. I can easily imagine a hammock swaying in the breeze listening to this song. It makes me want to rush to the airport and board the soonest plane to the Caribbean.

From the video, Blackmill says:

So after 4 years I’ve managed to complete a song! This was originally a side project but continued it as I thought it had potential. Hope you like it! 🙂

Don’t worry if it’s not your taste and is too different. Next track will be a Melodic Dubstep tune 🙂 You might have noticed how I produce lots of different genres, that will always be the case 🙂

Enjoy.
