Concept EP’s are always interesting to listen to as they contain an over encompassing theme to them that tie together all the music in a more efficient way than most EPs do. Lassi and ASW keep true to this idea with the first of two parts of their new EP, Direction(s): Part 1. Featuring the beautiful vocals from Skylar Giovanna, the first track “Up” takes you up in both a literal and metaphorical sense, creating a building sense of motion through both the vibe of the track and the instrumentation, introducing new elements throughout the progression. “Down” borrows a very similar concept minus the vocals by introducing various arpeggiated synths that rise and ultimately fall, going “down” or so to speak.
