It’s great to see rising talent deviate from the standard path, to make music that falls within the dance music spectrum without sounding like everything that’s currently being played by the bigger names. Jake Brodoway does just that, not with an original, but with a smart remix. Oh, Be Clever is a electronic duo from Utah who gave us a downtempo, edgy single “Paint Me Gold.” Jake Brodoway flips this dark tune and gives it a progressive house makeover, but does well to keep Brittney Shields’ flawless voice intact, especially at the chorus. Jake takes just the right amount of bright synths and blends it with the original to produce a festival ready track.
