Felix Jaehn’s Remix of OMI’s “Cheerleader” Sees Massive International Success

Hailing from Germany, rising tropical house pioneer Felix Jaehn has been on an absolute tear, having already conquered the charts in 18 countries with his remix of OMI’s hit, “Cheerleader.” Though his tropical re-imagination of the track saw unprecedented levels of success around the world, the young German producer isn’t done yet, as he has set his sights on the conquering the American charts as well.

Jaehn comes from a background of classical training, as he played violin at a young age, and his immense musical talent is evident in his productions. The up-and-coming producer has become a power player in the rising deep house movement, garnering support for his spirited melodies and wide array of sun-soaked instruments that give his tracks a lazy, playful feel. His remix of OMI’s “Cheerleader,” is no different, as Jaehn’s rendition lifts OMI’s mellow vocals to another level with its rich piano melodies, smooth bongo patterns, and soulful trumpet harmonies.

Though OMI’s original track was released in 2012, Jaehn discovered it in early 2014 before giving it his tropical spin and releasing it on Ultra Records last spring. The track racked up an impressive resume along the way, charting its way to the Top 10 on iTunes in 18 countries, as well as Top 10 on Shazam in 7 countries and Top 10 on Spotify in 14 countries. The soothing personality and strong composition of the track has made it a hit in international markets, and serves as the perfect introduction for the extremely talented youngster to the U.S. The remix is available for purchase on iTunes.
