Both Zeds Dead and Oliver Heldens experienced a stand-out year in 2014; the superstar pair saw an evolution in their brand of energetic, bass-driven music and began to experiment with a groovier house style, while the latter experienced a meteoric rise in popularity with his releases “Gecko (Overdrive)” and “Last All Night (Koala),” among others. When the three wildly different producers joined forces for the track “You Know,” the anticipation was palpable, as pundits wondered how the two differing styles could mesh together.
Released today on Beatport via Spinnin’ Records, “You Know” is a massive future house track that draws from elements of bass music to make the track more than a quintessential club banger. The Dutch phenom and Canadian duo set the foundation of the track with synth quivers and a big, whomping bass line, while slipping in twisting effects and subtle, stabbing synths to bring the track to new heights.
