Zedd has made it for the first time onto Billboard‘s “Social 50” chart; and it’s not because of his music.
Recently Zedd has stirred up some serious internet waves due to his apparent courtship of pop idol Selena Gomez. After posting an Instagram photo of her in bed, he has gone on to gain over 81,000 new followers on the photo-driven social media platform.
Now, Zedd finds himself at #40 on this chart, and Selena has recently moved from #4 to #2. According to Billboard, the chart:
“Ranks the most popular artists on YouTube, Vevo, Facebook, Twitter, SoundCloud, Wikipedia, Myspace and Instagram. The chart’s methodology blends weekly additions of friends/fans/followers along with artist page views, song plays and reactions as measured by music analytics company Next Big Sound.”
Although just speculation at this point, Selena’s posts also point to a possible relationship beyond professional music collaboration.
Speculation is a powerful tool, however; proven so by the 288% increase in Zedd searches on Wikipedia and the adjoining 88% rise in IG followers from the week before. Zedd’s suspected relationship with this young talent seems to have only worked in his favor thus far. After all, who can hate a couple as adorable and talented as these two when they give off such an innocent appearance.

Everyone knows that Zedd is definitely one of the most talented artists of our time. Unlike some of Zedd’s contemporaries, I’ve only heard news of his professional life pertaining to his music before now, or, maybe a bit about his plaid shirts. Zedd is definitely EDM royalty. He is so loved by his contemporaries and his fans. Boundaries tho: Love is so delicate. xx
