It’s like a broken record at this point, but those who cannot see that EDM has legitimate musical properties are just unaware of the processes that go into producing a track.
Nothing makes that more evident than when a producer releases/performs an acoustic version of their own track. A video surfaced yesterday of Kygo on a Norwegian-Swedish television talk show Skavlan performing an acoustic, live version of his latest single “Firestone.”
This beautiful rendition of “Firestone” features Kygo in his classic low-V on piano, a lone drummer, and Conrad on vocals. The performance is barebones and emotive, with very little pageantry and just the right about of lighting.

I always thought these were female vocals….
I’m not a fan of Kygo’s tracks because of his instrumentation, or the sounds he uses. But that Acoustic Cover was amazing. Best so far this year
