In the second year of Ultra in South Africa, the lineup is looking like a DJ Mag-fanboy’s wet dream.
In the Phase 2 lineup that was announced yesterday, filling out the already stacked lineup, were DVBBS, Gorgon City and Oliver Heldens.
As major festivals begin to emerge in other countries, we will begin to see lineups that look a lot like this, catering to the popular choice rather than perhaps utilizing the host nation’s own talent. However, this is just the second year of the festival, and there is a lot of native talent, including Goldfish and and Black Coffee, to keep things fresh.
“The additional lineup also boasts the likes of Elrow resident DJs Marc Maya, De Law Swing and Toni Varga, alongside South African homegrown talents Black Coffee and Goldfish. Billed as the “largest electronic music festival in Africa’s history,” with a total expected attendance of 40,000, Ultra South Africa will be held Feb. 13 at Cape Town’s Ostrich Park and on Feb. 14 at Johannesburg’s NASRAC Expo Grounds.
General Admission tickets can still be obtained here.”
