Aside from their releases on Disciple Recordings, Astronaut have garnered themselves a substantial fanbase among Monstercat listeners, and for good reason, too.
Released last June, their track “Champions” reached over 125k plays on SoundCloud and has been a huge success. So much so, that Monstercat has released an official remix EP for it with the likes of WRLD, Laszlo, Silverback and Volant. WRLD and Laszlo present bright and vibrant interpretations of the original anthemic progressive house tune. WRLD’s is a warm future bass tune while Laszlo went for the glitch hop & chiptune approach, blending the two styles seamlessly into a chopped and high-energy work.
Silverback, however, went balls out with some heavy Twine-esque dubstep. That’s not to say that the style isn’t his own, as he most certainly owns this remix and makes it his bitch. Volant rounds out the remix EP with a stripped-back dubstep tune, full of glorious melodic breaks and insane crescendos and rough kicks.
These are not remixes to sleep on, you can find the purchase links below.
