Yes you read that correctly, a horror movie which follows a schizophrenic EDM DJ/Producer and his struggle to cope with the sounds inside of his head is set for release this February 6th. A dark and horrific film, or so it appears, I wouldn’t go to see this lightheartedly.
Starring Jake Hoffman from The Wolf of Wall Street and Twilight actress Nikki Reed, we have high hopes for this upcoming film. The iTunes synopsis is as follows:
A socially awkward EDM musician with a traumatic past, a tenuous grip on reality, and voices in his head. When he meets Wendy (Nikki Reed), he thinks he might finally have a shot at happiness. But as long-buried memories begin to stir, and his crush turns into obsession, Jim finds himself looking into a violent abyss… and he won’t be going alone.
Entitled “Enter the Dangerous Mind” and including adjoining artwork that stylizes it to highlight “EDM,” we are both excited for and nervous about this release… How will it depict the scene? In the trailer there is already proof of substance abuse which preemptively lends a bad reputation to the music scene it is tapping into; but we’ll have to wait until release date to find out more.
