It seems like Skrillex must have gotten a time machine or some kind of teleportation device this Christmas because he seems to be everywhere we look.
Holding on to the title of one of the most recognizable names in dance music is no easy feat, but I doubt that Sonny sees it as work for most of the time. In between all the studio sessions and scheduled tour dates, he likes to just mess and around and hang out with pals. Though, sometimes, he still ends up behind the decks.
At Kaskade’s Redux show at Pier 36 in New York City last night (where he played for four hours), Skrillex decided to stop by toward the end for a little change of pace. Whereas Kaskade had been mostly going deep with throwbacks and and classics, Skrillex helped to raise the energy even higher by laying down some more characteristics tunes from rap to melodic dubstep. Despite collaborating on “Lick It,” last night marks the first time that Kaskade and Skrillex have performed together on stage.
