I’ll admit, I got really excited when I saw SomeKindaWonderful and Elk Roads names together. Although it was simply the latter remixing the former, that was all that was necessary for something super dope to be created. “Reverse” from the self-titled album got a smooth makeover from the Australian act who turned up cool indie trap sound. Perfect for winter, or those finishing up finals, this chill masterpiece is a boost of calming relaxation. It has a cerebral sound, using spacey synths and soundscapes to create a remix that rivals the one done by Passion Pit. Elk Road continues to pump out solid, diverse music and I don’t see that stopping once the new year rolls around. In fact, given that Elk Road has already been backed by major labels, you can expect a huge year ahead. Until then, stream the remix and enjoy!
