The week between Christmas and New Year’s Eve has evolved into a grand week of partying in North America. Similar to Winter Music Conference or EDC Week, major cities across the US and Canada jockey for the biggest talent for those who want to close out the year on the dance floor. Though the trend has stuck in places like Miami, other places like New York have been slower to take on this tradition. Marquee Nightclub is leading the charge in New York City by filling the week with celebrations. For the first time they’ll be joining other NYC venues hosting parties as early as December 24th through December 31st, with an incredible lineup of some of your favorite acts.
Local artist dBerrie kicks off this grand week on Christmas Eve. While the night before Thanksgiving is known for booking some of the biggest acts, Marquee is making sure that Christmas Eve becomes a new tradition as well. They’ll be rolling out the red carpet for a full night of celebrations, headlined by NYC native dBerrie. He’s been busy this month, as his latest track AMP was just released Monday on Flamingo Recordings.
Dutch DJ R3hab returns to the city for one last party in 2014, after touring South America and Europe. A New York favorite, R3hab frequently sells out venues in the city, making this one of the hottest tickets all week. Anyone who’s seen him live knows that he brings an intense energy to any party to accompany his big room tunes like “Karate,” his latest collaboration with KSHMR. It’s the perfect party if you’re starting to get a little nutty from all that family time, or need to start sweating off some of that holiday weight.
As the week goes on, the acts get bigger and better at Marquee. It’s taken New York three months to recover from their last show in the city, and to be honest, we might need a little more time off. Stefan and Olle, the masters of mayhem, turn the city on its head every time they visit, including the Dada Land Compound back in February. This show also marks the one-year anniversary of Dada Life’s first New York pillow fight at Marquee, so it wouldn’t be surprising if the feathers flew for old time’s sake. We just hope Marquee has enough champagne left for New Years!
December 31st – Sebastian Ingrosso & Cedric Gervais
Though he has enjoyed much success this year alongside Axwell, Ingrosso will perform as a solo act for the biggest NYE celebration in the city. As if the promise of one of the biggest DJs in the world wasn’t enough, Marquee has announced that also performing that night after hours will be the legendary Cedric Gervais! As if New Year’s Eve wasn’t already going to be a smash with just Ingrosso, Gervais will turn New York into Miami and keep the party going until the sun comes up!
Tickets are still available for this all-star week of artists but it would be wise to act fast. Be sure to follow Marquee on Twitter (@MarqueeNY) for show updates and more information!
