What do Chris Lake and Prince have in common? Well, not a whole lot honestly, one’s from Scottland and one’s from an alternate dimension. However, when the artist presently known as Chris Lake gets his hands on a Prince tune, magic happens. You might have been aware about Prince’s recent release FUNKNROLL, but if you aren’t a fan of the legend, you should probably skip it and head right to the Lake’s remix.
The funky sampling Chris Lake employs gives birth to a groovy yet glitchy main hook. Half clip, half clop the line bounces playfully over an equally infectious bassline. Backed by quintessential house loops, Lake’s remix gives way to a more booty inspired bridge before jumping right back into it. House heads will love this one, there’s no question to that.
